The lens shaping draws inspiration from early alpine and explorer eyewear where the lens acted as a protective shield for the eyes and face. The lens interiors are treated with both anti-reflective and oleophobic coatings for holistic eye protection and water and oil repellency.

D Black Rose is an advanced sports lens engineered for trail running and physical pursuits that involve variable light conditions. The lens allows 15.67% of visible light transmittance. The lens also offers 100% UVA/B protection while transmitting 14.19% of blue light.
